A community group whose purpose is to gather, research, record and preserve our local history.
Who we are & What we do
We are a dedicated team of local volunteers with strong community links, drawing on our various strengths as historians, archaeologists and media people. We wish to continuously engage with the Connemara Community, recording our local history, folklore, heritage and traditions with a strong emphasis on place names, bog lands, fields/meadows, beaches/coves, rocks, etc. This will be an ongoing project involving individuals, schools, historians, archaeologists and all areas of interest.
